Cthulhu Saves the World

WoW, my first review, the pressure is on i really have to make this really good. Breath in breath out, in and out. Right i'm ready here we go.

Where do i begin with Cthulhu Saves the World, well it's a role playing game, RPG for short, but it is not typical of the modern genre. Cthulhu is a top down retro styled RPG similar to many of the old generation of RPG's.

The biggest difference for me with Cthulhu and plenty of other games is that it knows what it is but also knows what it is trying to be. The guys over at Zeboyd  games really knew what they were trying to achieve when Cthulhu was talked about the seemed to understand what would draw people into their game. What Cthulhu did was incorporate an old style of game that would appeal to the hardcore players that played games like this when they were first starting out with games. Added to that they also drew in an audience from outside of the hardcore players and reached people because this game knew that it was blooming hilarious but didn't abuse a genre of games that in effect gave all genres of games something.

I suppose i should really talk about the features that this game has to offer at the time of writing this Steam is telling me that i have played this game for 105 minutes which i don't think is accurate because i haven't been able to stop playing this incredible game.

So i think that is the main feature this game offers is the sheer enjoyment you get from playing this game. The main cause for this i think is the frequent LV-UPS that really draws you towards your character and really allows you to mold the character into what you would like the character to be, whether you want Cthulhu to be a character that beats enemies down with his uber steel sword or you want him to be someone who has simply an immense amount health it is all not only possible but also really simple. When you LV-UP you get either option a or option b both giving you different abilities or stat upgrades. One set of these choices was do with these two blinding abilities that Umi, the fair maiden you save at the beginning of the game, one option gave you the choice of either blinding a single enemy for a small amount of MP, magic points and if you don't know what magic points are i am very disappointed in you, or you can get a group blinding spell for a large amount of MP. These choices give you the opportunity to really build a character that reflects what you want the character to be like.

Another feature of this game has to offer is its turn based combat system that is surprisingly fast paced, this allows for casual players to be able to tell their characters exactly what to do using simple arrow and enter key combinations. however his system also allows for an amazing amount of control with the player being able to control and que up attacks for each of his characters allowing for a nice amount of control.

Beyond the general features there are seemingly many bonus features that this game offers after you have completed the main story line, which i believe is about 6-7 hours of game play, these bonus features include commentary from the developers i assume about the creation of the game ans such. I also believe but i could be wrong but there is also a second story available after you complete the other one but i can not confirm nor deny this.

If you are not already convinced to snap this game up from steam or gamersgate, i'll let you in on something so criminal that i shouldn't even be allowed to let you know about it, when i tell you this you are going to see exactly what i mean. The price of this game is ............ Drum roll please ........ £1.99 and if you buy this game from steam today there is a 10% sale so the game is £1.79. If that isn't a bargain i dunno what is.

In conclusion this game can not be bad, this game's roots come from the likes of Final Fantasy, Phantasy Star and even Pokemon to some degree. With its awesome zany humor that sets it apart with this great influx of RPG games that in my opinion don't really respect where their genre comes from but with a breath of fresh air Cthulhu brings new life into a genre that has been around since the dawn of PC gaming and gaming in general.

Introduction to the Blog

Well, i suppose that this blog really deserves an introduction and bit of an explanation regarding what will be happening with this blog, through out the rest of the blogs life.

This blog is being produced for three basic categories of people. Category 1 - these people are the guys who love video games primarily on the PC but not limited to. Category 2 - The people who like to read things on the internet where people try to be funny in order to gain the approval of their peers. Category 3 - Everybody else.

The people who fall into Category 1 well u guys are, hopefully, going to find this blog informative and entertaining... mmm we'll see.
The people that fall into category 2 you are going to love this blog I am going to try to be so funny that well you won't need to go anywhere else and to highlight just how funny i am going to try to be i am going to tell a joke. How much does a polar bear weigh... I dunno but it broke the ice. Now this joke is hilarious because not only are polar bears heavy and living in a frozen environment to which they could break some ice but also this is my first blog post breaking the ice between my fabulously fantastic readers.
Now the people that fall into category 3, to which i suppose will be a large percentage of the people on the planet, the only thing that is here for you is an abundance, well not at the moment but hopefully soon, of articles for you to read and gain a fantastic insight into the WORLD OF VIDEO GAMES :O.

If you have not already guessed this blog site will be a site that i will use to review video games, simple enough, but i hear you say, What makes you unique Mr.Faraa? My reply to that is of course absolutely nothing but i have found that their really aren't enough game review websites that give an honest opinion on the game without having some sort of ulterior motive. I will try my best to make an honest unbiased review that is enjoyable and covers a cross section of games from indie games to AAA games to really anything i can get my hands on and feel like reviewing.

The next thing i have to do is plug my YouTube channel which will essentially be doing the same thing as what i am doing on this blog but doing more play through's than reviews. My YouTube channel at the moment is currently under construction and i am working hard to feet a good amount of content out as to lure in a healthy amount of subscribers.

So finally i think a good idea is to give you guys a promise of what is to come contents wise.

1)Cthulhu Saves the World
2)Portal
3)Frozen Synapse
4)Who's that Flying
5)Gunz

I will not necessarily blog about these games in this specific order but these are likely to be the first games that get reviewed
